16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is an annual campaign that runs from November 25 to December 10. It begins on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and concludes on Human Rights Day.

This impactful initiative aims to raise awareness about the impacts of gender-based violence and to promote efforts to end it. Each day during this period focuses on different aspects of the issue, encouraging individuals and communities to take and advocate for change. The colour for the campaign is orange.

Lighting of the Icons

On Wednesday November 25, South Australian Parliament House, the Adelaide Oval and the Riverbank Footbridge will be lit in orange to signify the start of the 16 Days and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

We will be meeting on the steps of Parliament House at 7:45pm on Wednesday 25 November to see the lights.

We welcome members of the general public to join us for this event.
